Sweet & Smokey Chicken Breast

Sweet & Smokey Chicken w/ white rice

I am a huge fan of SPICE. So if you’re into deep, smokey and spicy flavors, this is for you. This is a good recipe for you fitness enthusiasts who meal prep and just want to switch things up just a little. Now this recipe is nothing extremely spicy, but it definitely has a little bite to it. You can always add or subtract ingredients if you like to please your tastebuds. This will be good with simple white rice, or you can switch it up and make some tacos out of it. Test it and let me know how it turned out!


  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1/2 tbs paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbs chili powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Two 6-8 oz chicken breast
  • Rolling pin
  • Olive oil


  1. Take chicken breast and flatten to 1/2 inch thick using rolling pin or any method of your choice
  2. Lightly coat each side with salt and pepper
  3. Drizzle olive oil in a non stick skillet or cast iron
  4. Sear chicken breast on each side for 2-3 minutes on medium-high heat (use cast iron for better coloring)
  5. Meanwhile, mix spices with brown sugar & preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
  6. After searing chicken let sit for 2 minutes to cool off
  7. Coat chicken in seasoning blend on both sides
  8. Place in oven for 12-15 minutes
  9. Remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes
  10. Grab a plate and enjoy!
